The PALS for EDI Initiative collaborates with departments and individuals across UCL to promote a respectful, accessible, and inclusive community for all students and staff in the Psychology and Languages Sciences Division

This dedicated group of researchers, led by PhD student Audrey Zhang and Prof. Peter Howell, is committed to enhancing equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout UCL.

Our core goals include the transformation of academic systems:

  1. Strengthening diversity and inclusion research efforts
  2. Supporting talent development and fostering collaborations
  3. Establishing and improving mentoring programs for diverse students
  4. Nurturing UCL Diversity Forum engagement and growth
  5. Providing education and resources on equality, diversity, and inclusion
  6. Implementing metrics to track and assess progress in EDI initiatives
  7. Developing strategies to showcase PALS for EDI milestones and achievements

We offer a range of information, consultation, and educational support to the UCL community on issues related to diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect within the Psychology and Language Sciences Division.
